Bio
Ali Brown is President and Partner of award-winning production company PRETTYBIRD and Co-Founder and President of Academy Award-nominated creative studio Ventureland, bringing her expansive industry knowledge, sharp creative instincts, and a deep commitment to distinctive storytelling across commercials, film, television, documentary, branded content, and live cultural work. At PRETTYBIRD, Brown has played a central role in shaping the company into one of the most celebrated and creatively influential production companies in the global advertising industry.
Under her leadership, PRETTYBIRD’s work, talent roster, and creative partnerships continue to earn top honors from Cannes Lions, The One Show, the Clio Awards, D&AD, the AICP Awards, and other major international institutions. The company has twice been named Ad Age’s Production Company of the year, and between 2024 and 2025, PRETTYBIRD and its projects earned 182 distincts across award wins, shortlists, and longlists.
In 2025, Brown’s teams delivered campaigns for Nike, e.l.f., Levi’s, Verizon, Netflix, and Mazda, while landing four Super Bowl spots – three executive produced by Brown. In 2020, Brown co-founded Ventureland alongside Oscar-winning producer John Battsek and PRETTYBIRD partners Kerstin Emhoff and Paul Hunter. Through Ventureland, she has continued to champion bold scripted, unscripted, and documentary storytelling, executive producing acclaimed projects including Netflix’s Emmy-winning Beckham, Academy Award-nominated Bobi Wine: The People’s President, Apple TV+’s Government Cheese starring David Oyelowo, and Hulu’s Daytime Emmy-winning docuseries Searching for Soul Food.
Her recent producing credits also include Netflix’s American Manhunt anthology, whose 2025 installments on O.J. Simpson and Osama bin Laden became global streaming hits; the Netflix smash hit Murder in Monaco; K2: The Last Winter, one of Sundance 2026’s largest documentary sales; and executive produced three films that premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival. She also oversaw the seven-part film component for the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s 2026 Good News Mass, a multi-sensory, multimedia collaboration uniting composer Carlos Simon, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and acclaimed director Melina Matsoukas.
International recognized for her leadership, taste, and industry insight, Brown was named on Adweek’s 2026 Creative 100 list and has served in a number of prestigious jury roles, including President of the 2025 New York Festivals Advertising Film Craft Jury, sole production juror for the 2025 International ANDY Awards, and President of the Direction Jury at D&AD in 2024. She previously made history as the first female President of the Cannes Young Directors Award Jury.
In 2025, she was accepted into the Producers Guild of America. Deeply committed to inclusion and expanding access within the production industry, Brown founded “Double the Line,” an initiative aimed at increasing opportunities for BIPOC talent in production and post-production. Continuing to nurture talent and expand company offerings, Brown remains dedicated to pushing creative boundaries, shaping impactful stories, and solidifying her place as a leader in global entertainment and advertising.
